Now, if you thought this is because of a unexpected promotion at work, or something prosaic like that, you would be wrong. It is because of this...
And because of this trailer, set to one of my all time favorite Arcade Fire songs...
Now you know that I'm a sucker for Arcade Fire anyway...but that made Katie and I both tear up. It appears to fit the tone and direction of the movie perfectly. I'm very interested to see where Spike Jonze (the director) takes the story, but I am just happy that it wasn't turned into a crass, Schreck-esque animated feature where the most significant content is either farting or musical montages set to Smashmouth...sorry, I just threw up in my mouth a little.
crazy!!! I loved that book! it looks really good, I had no idea it was coming out. Good to have you back ;)
you know wes anderson is doing my fav childrens book of all time too-fantastic mr fox.
@nutmeggmama - um...yes I do...and apparently it is going to be stop-motion as well...I think?
Ummmm....I have to confess that I have utterly no connection to that book. Maybe Mom didn't read it to me. I'm glad you're happy about it!
You're right, Laura, I never read that book to you kids. Why not? Not really sure. It just never got into our house. So when did Chris and Rachel read it?
@nanacilla - I actually only really remember reading it later in life and loving it's depiction of a boys imagination. It seems like the director is actually taking it much further that the book did, and delving deeper into the boys life, and why he needs to escape into his fantasies.
